Mighty Films is a full-service video production company. We have the skills and the experience to create eye-catching short form content for socials or to tell longer stories in ways that feel real to audiences – using personal narrative to capture individual perspectives on big ideas.
Mighty Films started out in film and video production – our commitment to the moving image is right there in the name. We have worked around Australia and the world, producing content for some of the biggest companies in Australia, as well as universities and government.
Whether you’re looking for someone to shoot some video or you’re after a production company to make a film from scratch, we’ve got you covered.
When the Level Crossing Removal Authority asked us to create a short video for their socials, we took the opportunity to shoot the hell out of our own neighbourhood. Hyper-lapse? Check. Split screen? Check. A bunch of transitions we never get to use? Check. Great fun!
PS – Credit to Misheye Image who were responsible for a few of the shots near the end.
The Centre for Ethical Leadership commissioned Mighty Films to make a short promo for their Vincent Fairfax Fellowship – a program that seeks to equip senior executive leaders with the tools they need to make ethical decisions in business. A combination of atmospheric overlay, smooth dolly shots and personal narrative results in a slick corporate feel that speaks to the high-end market this promo is aimed at.
Back in the day, Baulderstone asked Mighty Films to make a series of films profiling staff members to build staff engagement and to inspire their team. The brief was to get beyond a professional portrait and show a glimpse of the subject's personal story. Here, OH&S manager Tony gives us an insight into what drives his passion for his job and we also get to see him in full hero mode..
Mighty Films was commissioned to produce a series of films profiling young Australians who have received funding from the General Sir John Monash Foundation to study at some of the world's top universities.
The films aim to portray these highly accomplished individuals as ordinary Australians doing extraordinary things. This one features my lovely and very clever wife Cathy Vaughan, with a cameo by our not-so-patient-anymore daughter Clancy.
Warralily needed a hype reel so they called us. A proper shoot with models and live locations resulted in this little gem.
The Southern Program Alliance needed an induction video that would introduce key team-members and important ideas to their workforce in an engaging and informative format. Mighty Films helped develop a script and shot the video at locations across the project. We didn't win any Oscars for best performance, but they're not bad for a bunch of construction types.
Rochele is Erchen's mum and most passionate advocate. This film was made as part of the W-DARE research project, which aimed to improve the sexual and reproductive health of women with disability in the Philippines and was funded by the Australian Government and the UNFPA.
This is my favourite type of film-making: a small, passionate crew shooting in dynamic environments and making it work. A really moving piece – Rochele was super-cool.
The University of Melbourne’s Nossal Institute for Global Health approached Mighty Films to produce a film promoting their Gender Equality Study, an international research initiative in partnership with World Vision Australia.
Mighty Films accompanied researchers to the Rift Valley in western Kenya, where they travelled to evaluate gender equity outcomes in the Marigat Girl-child Promotion Project, which sought to lift the status of women and girls in rural Kenyan communities through improving access to education and offering alternatives to harmful cultural practices.
Before leaving Australia, Mighty Films worked closely with the research team to identify cultural sensitivities and develop a rigorous ethical framework for the production of the film. You don’t get opportunities like this every day – a life-changing experience!
